Sponsorship from Bloor Homes’ has become a game changer for competitive athletics at St Stephen’s Primary School, thanks to the contribution of new sports kit for the children.

The privately-owned national housebuilder’s Ensleigh development on Granville Road, Lansdown is just over a mile away from the school.

The pupils at St Stephen’s Primary School have been involved in competitive athletics since last year and have already enjoyed notable success. The schools’ A and B teams came first and second in the BANES Tournament and the A team qualified for the County Finals.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the recording of races gave them all a Personal Best time, which has helped their confidence grow. Some of the pupils were really inspired with athletics as a sport and were determined to join clubs outside school.

Jenny Newman, Head of Sport at St Stephen’s Primary School, said: “We are extremely grateful for the sponsorship provided by Bloor Homes, which has given us the opportunity to purchase new kits for our competitive team.

“The new kits will give our athletics team a real pride when representing the school. Above all, I would hope that the experience of competing as a team will inspire pupils to continue to enjoy an active lifestyle.”

Nikki Taylor, Regional Marketing Manager at Bloor Homes South West, said: “Inspiring sport activities and healthy lifestyle definitely resonates with our company ethos.

“We are thrilled to have sponsored the athletics team at St Stephen’s Primary School and wish the pupils best of luck in next year’s tournaments.”
