An inspector visited Noah’s Ark Pre School at All Saints Centre in Weston last month and has published her findings this week.

The report says the curriculum places a focus on preparing children for school, helping them to gain fundamental skills such as independence and confidence.

“Staff create a calm and welcoming environment where children demonstrate that they feel safe, secure and happy. Children arrive and immediately immerse themselves into the morning routine, shining with independence.”

Their behaviour is described as “exemplary” with staff setting clear, consistent rules and boundaries, helping the children to know and understand what is expected of them.

Children enjoy varied experiences across all areas of learning and are described as “highly motivated and curious learners”.

The report says that staff know children well and complete regular assessments. Leaders work closely with outside professionals and parents to implement effective strategies, helping to close gaps in learning.

Staff help the pre-schoolers to begin to learn about their local community. They visit local shops, the church and library, and leaders welcome visitors into the pre-school to share their job roles.

Parents are said to deeply value the “kind, nurturing and trustworthy” staff, and staff morale is said to be high.

The inspector says there is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children’s interests first.

Noah’s Ark Pre School, which registered in 2002, has 28 children on the roll.
