Bath Mozartfest has been awarded a £5,000 grant by national education charity the Ernest Cook Trust, to encourage the classical music lovers of tomorrow.

As part of its 25th Anniversary year, Bath Mozartfest will run a series of music workshops in local state secondary schools this autumn, in partnership with Bath-based charity 5x5x5=creativity.
The activities will culminate in an invitation for 50 pupils and their families to attend the final concert of the festival in November.
“We are very grateful to the Ernest Cook Trust for this grant support for our work with schools,” said Jackie Inverdale, Bath Mozartfest’s Development Director.
“We aim to take students through the how, why and what of classical music, and expose them to the fabulous sounds of live classical music, with its powerful ability to excite, soothe and satisfy emotionally.”
The Ernest Cook Trust is one of the UK’s leading educational charities, and is rooted in the conservation and management of the countryside.
It owns and manages 22,000 acres of landed estates across five counties in England.
ECT actively encourages children and young people to learn from the land through hands-on educational opportunities on its estates and by giving grants.
Each year its Trustees distribute £1.8m in educational grants.
