Cyclist Rushed To Hospital After 1am Collision

A 50-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car to the north of Bath in the early hours of this morning.

The man was hit by the car at the junction of Gloucester Road and the London Road, near to Alice Park.

Police were called to the scene at 12.50am this morning.

A man who was driving the car stopped and called the emergency services following the collision.

The 50-year-old cyclist sustained a broken leg and head injuries and was rushed to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

He was then transferred to the specialist head trauma centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The driver is assisting the police with their enquiries and has not been arrested.

Anyone who may have seen the collision is asked to tell police via 101.
