A woman is due before Bath Magistrates charged with a public order offence following an incident in which a parking enforcement officer was verbally abused near an infants’ school in Bath earlier this month.
It happened at about 9am on Thursday 2nd March outside Oldfield Park Infants’ School as the parking enforcement officer was issuing a ticket.
The 34-year-old woman from Bath was voluntarily interviewed and is due before Bath Magistrates on Thursday 30th March charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Avon and Somerset Police appealed for information on the incident last week, after officers were flagged down to report that a parking enforcement officer was being verbally abused near the school.
Neighbourhood PCSO Kim Tanner said: “The individuals involved in this incident used some offensive language in sight and hearing of families with young children.
“Parking issues around schools are often made a priority by local communities. It’s completely unacceptable for a parking enforcement officer to be abused while working to make our roads safer.”
