Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses following the car crash earlier this week which caused significant damage to a gatehouse on Cleveland Bridge in Bath.

It happened at about 1.30am on Monday 21st August and led to the closure of the bridge between London Road and St Johns Road while the structural damage was assessed.

A woman came forward and reported the collision within 24 hours. She is due to be spoken to by officers who are also keen to hear from anyone who saw the crash, or the black Vauxhall Corsa involved being driven in the moments before it happened.

Anyone with any information which could help is asked to get in touch through the police website: www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5217191243.
