Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for help to trace the driver of a blue VW Golf GTi who was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on the Lower Bristol Road in Bath.

It happened at around 9.45am on Saturday 5th March, near McDonald’s.

A 34-year-old man was crossing the road at the junction of Weston Lock retail park when he was hit and knocked over by the car, which failed to stop and drove off underneath the railway line towards Twerton.

The man suffered suspected cracked ribs.

It is thought the car was parked earlier in McDonald’s.

Officers would ask the driver of the Golf, a white man with dark hair, his blonde female passenger, or anyone who saw the collision, to call 101 reference 5216058140  and speak to PC 2844 Langford.
