Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to an incident in Bath city centre in which a female Big Issue seller was verbally abused by a man.

It happened outside H Samuel in Union Street at around 5pm on Monday 7th September.

The area was busy at the time and we are sure that many people would have seen it.

The Big Issue seller was sitting on a bench when she was approached a man, one of Bath’s street drinking community.

An argument began and he repeatedly swore at her before she walked away.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 98986/15.
