Witness appeal after armed robbery at fish and chip shop near Bath

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following an armed robbery at a fish and chip shop near Bath on Saturday evening.

The incident took place at approximately 10.20pm on Saturday (13th February) at the Seafoods restaurant on Bradford Road, Combe Down.

Two men entered the shop and threatened the employees behind the till with a bat and an axe.

One of the men then struck one of the workers with the bat which caused a minor injury requiring hospital treatment.

A small amount of money was handed to the men before the they smashed the victims’ mobile phones and the restaurant’s landline phone.

The offenders then left the area in a dark car that was parked in the lane next to the restaurant.

The first suspect is described as wearing a dark sweatshirt, blue jeans with his face covered.

The second man is described as wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt and mid-grey jogging bottoms. He also had his face covered.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately on 101.
