Avon and Somerset Police have charged two local men following the murder of a 55-year-old woman in Peasedown St John earlier this week.

Jessie Harper, 22, of Hillside View, Peasedown St John, has been charged with murder.

Declan Harper, 19, of Frederick Avenue, Peasedown St John, has been charged with assisting an offender.

Both men have been remanded in custody and will appear at Bath Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Formal identification of the victim in this case has not yet been completed.

Shortly before 10.30am on Sunday (10th May) police were called to a residential address in Hillside View regarding a welfare concern for the occupant.

Upon arrival, the 55-year-old woman was found inside the property with serious head injuries.

She was airlifted to Southmead Hospital by the Great Western Air Ambulance where she sadly died from her injuries on Monday morning.
