Two men arrested and police appeal launched after robbery at Mallory jewellers

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to a break-in at a jewellers in Bath yesterday afternoon, with two men arrested earlier today in connection with the raid.

The incident happened at about 2.30pm at the Mallory jewellers in Bridge Street.

Two men on a motorbike rode onto the pavement. They then smashed a window with an axe and grabbed jewellery and watches before riding off.

The motorcycle was later recovered in Swainswick Lane.

Two men, aged 22 and 25 years, were arrested earlier this morning on suspicion of robbery.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a motorbike travelling between Bridge Street and Swainswick Lane and what happened to the riders afterwards.

Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.
