Five of the thefts Mark Doyle carried out were at the Tesco Express on Wellsway.

  • On 7th March, he took various items of a value unknown.
  • On 18th March, he stole Easter eggs worth £132.
  • On 26th March, he stole Strongbow worth £31.
  • On 5th April, the theft was washing products of a value unknown.
  • On 7th April, he stole bottles of Baileys worth £145.

Doyle also stole various items of an unknown value from One Stop in Rosewell Court in Bath on 27th January.

At his court appearance on Wednesday 29th April, magistrates heard that he has a drug addiction and has been on methadone, which is used to treat heroin dependence, for a few weeks.

He recently spent a short time in prison for previous offending.

They asked the Probation Service for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for a drug rehabilitation requirement (DRR) assessment.

Doyle was granted bail on condition that he does not go to Tesco Express on Wellsway.

He will be back in court for sentencing on 22nd July.
