Two teenagers have been arrested by police following an incident at a fast food restaurant in the centre of Bath this afternoon, Thursday 15th June.
Officers were called at 2.15pm to a report of a robbery at the KFC on Lower Borough Walls.
Road closures were put in place while emergency services responded, and two teenagers were arrested in connection with the incident.
Police have said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Bath College, which is based in nearby Avon Street, implemented a campus lockdown after being advised of an incident by the police. It is not yet clear if this was in relation to the robbery.
In a statement, Jayne Davis, the Principal and CEO, said: “As a result of an incident in the city centre of Bath this afternoon, the College took the decision to undertake a lockdown of its campus.
“The incident reported to us by the police was external to the College and did not involve anyone in our College community to our knowledge.
“This lockdown is part of the College’s emergency procedures policy and was undertaken swiftly and effectively.
“All students, staff and visitors remained safe and were released when the College received confirmation from the police that it was safe to do so.”
