Farm worker Radoslaw Synenko must also complete 80 hours of unpaid work under a 12-month community order.

At the hearing on Monday 7th September, the court heard that Synenko shows “remorse and regret” for getting behind the wheel of his Honda CR-V on 22nd August while over the limit.

After he failed a roadside breath test, he was taken to Keynsham Police Centre where the lower of two readings revealed 105 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Representing Synenko as duty solicitor, Will Palmer said he had been offered but turned down the chance to do a drink-drive rehabilitation course following his first conviction, but wants to do it this time.

If he successfully completes the course, Synenko’s ban will be reduced by 48 weeks.

The 31-year-old, of Hardington, near Frome, was also ordered to pay a court surcharge of £114 and prosecution costs of £85.
