A 77-year-old man from Clandown, near Radstock, has appeared before Bath magistrates on nine charges relating to historic sex offences, including rapes.

Gordon Bradfield, of Fosseway, was in court on Wednesday 7th January to face three charges of rape of a female under 16.

The rapes are said to have occurred between 1997 and 2003.

There are two charges of gross indecency against a girl, with those offences alleged to have taken place between 1999 and 2003.

Bradfield also faces four charges relating to indecent assaults on a girl between 1997 and 2003.

Magistrates sent the case to Bristol Crown Court, where there will be a plea and trial preparation hearing on 6th February. They granted Bradfield unconditional bail.
