Avon and Somerset Police are advising people to always lock their car, even if they’ve removed anything of significant value, following a number of thefts from vehicles in the Batheaston area of Bath and in the north of the city.

In Batheaston on Sunday morning, 29th November, officers found that 11 vehicles had been entered and cash stolen.

Police have had calls from members of the public saying they’ve left their cars unlocked and had loose change stolen.

When officers carried out house to house enquiries, people have confirmed it’s happening but have said they’ve not reported it to the police because they felt at fault and it was only a small amount of money stolen.

All thefts are a crime and should be reported, which you can do crime online on the force website: https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk

To avoid becoming a victim, please heed police advice to always lock your vehicle and protect your property.
