Police say they have seen a rise in youth violence and anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Bath city centre – with some children as young as 13 involved.

In an update, the neighbourhood policing team said the increase over the last couple of months has been in the evening at weekends.
They said: “This has mainly revolved around one group in particular. Significant work has been completed to identify members of this group and partners have been engaged to identify which interventions are best for each young person.”
This includes police-led ASB interventions and Bath & North East Somerset Council-led social and children’s services intervention, as well as interventions from specialist children’s outreach services.
The police added: “We would urge all parents to make sure they know where their children are and who they are with, especially late at night.
“On several occasions we have found children as young as 13 years old out in the city centre as late as 4am, which is clearly inappropriate.”
