Police carry out moped checks in city centre after public concerns

Police say they have carried out checks on mopeds in the city centre after receiving reports from the public about anti-social driving and unroadworthy vehicles.

The Bath City Centre Team recently spent an afternoon checking mopeds in several locations, including Queen Square and Henry Street.

In total they stopped 19 vehicles and all had valid tax, insurance and MoTs.

One rider received a ticket for being on their phone. Crime prevention advice was offered by officers to owners about securing their vehicles against theft.

Police say they will continue to clamp down on anti-social driving in the city centre.
