Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information from the public to help trace a partially-clothed man who knocked at a remote rural house near Bath on Sunday night (17th January), and asked for help.
He was wearing only jeans, with nothing on the top half of his body, and one trainer, and told the house’s occupants that he was in a bad way.
They were so concerned about his mental and physical state that they called police, but when officers arrived he had vanished and has not yet been been found.
He is described as white, around 25, thin and with short dark hair.
Officers searched the area around Nailwell, between Englishcombe and Priston last night and checked homes and outbuildings.
There was no sign of the man in the country lanes and fields, but a Nike Air Max trainer believed to belong to him was found in a layby.
More searches were made yesterday morning, using the police helicopter and a police dog. Officers have made house-to-house enquiries.
There are no reports of missing people fitting the man’s description.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may recognise the man or have seen him in the area yesterday evening/night. They have issued a picture of his trainer (above) should anyone recognise this.
Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 809 of 17th January.
