Avon and Somerset Police are asking for the public’s help to try and trace a cyclist who may have information about a suspected burglary near the Bristol to Bath cycle path.

The man was riding towards Bath between Warmley signal box and Oldland Common, at around 10-11am on Tuesday, 16th December, when he was stopped by a female dog walker.

She described how she’d seen two suspicious men run down the steep embankment carrying bags.

She asked the cyclist to call police from his phone, but instead he rode after them into Thirlmere Court, where he saw then get into a black Peugeot car.

Officers are asking the cyclist, who was in his 40s and wearing a jacket, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 130891/14.
