Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation and are asking women in Bath to contact them and report promptly any cases of indecent exposure that have been happening across the city.
There have been 14 incidents recorded, mostly in the Oldfield Park and Twerton area, since November last year.
Most have happened after dark in the early evenings, while some have occurred in the early morning at around 8am.
The latest was on Sunday evening, 21st February, in the Beaufort Mews area of Larkhall when a man exposed himself to a woman as she got into her parked car.
Bath Chief Inspector Kevin Thatcher said: “We are taking these offences seriously and doing all we can to investigate and identify the person or people responsible.
“We don’t wish to alarm anyone unduly, but we feel it is important that women should be aware that these incidents have happened and can take sensible personal security measures.
“It’s really important that police are called immediately to these incidents. It means we can respond quickly and have a better chance of finding the offender.
“Delaying calling us by even a couple of hours cuts our chances of making an arrest.
“We’re keen to gather any information, and it may be that there have been other incidents that for whatever reason have not been reported to us.
“Our message is – indecent exposure is a crime, so please call us immediately on 999 and help us to put a stop to this series.”
One description of the offender is a white man, 6ft-6ft 3ins tall, in his late 20s to early 30s. In some cases he has a beard, in others he is clean-shaven.
He is of medium to stocky build, heavy-set and athletic. He was wearing a hooded top and tracksuit bottoms.
Please call 101 if you have any information, or ring 999 for an immediate response in an emergency.
