Following a full and thorough investigation by Avon and Somerset Police into the discovery of a human foot in Bath earlier this year, detectives say no crime has been committed and that it’s ‘not suspicious’.

The foot was found by a member of the public in Weston Park East on Friday 19th February.

As part of the investigation, detailed forensic tests were carried out on the foot and it was examined by a Home Office pathologist and a forensic anthropologist.

Detectives also spoke with local educational and health care providers and the local authority as they sought to establish who the foot belonged to.

T/DI Paul Catton said: “We have carried out an extensive investigation into the foot and we have exhausted all active lines of enquiry pending any new information.

“We are satisfied that no crime has been committed and that the foot is more than likely an exhibit from a medical or educational establishment.”
