Cannabis plants worth around £100,000 have been seized by police after officers carried out a Misuse of Drugs warrant at a house in Twerton on Wednesday.

Acting on information from a member of the public, they went to the house in Landseer Road and found a sophisticated cannabis factory inside.
Two bedrooms has been converted into growing rooms, and an attic into a nursery, with lights, heaters and fans.
The house’s electricity supply had also been bypassed.
Bath officers, supported by a team from Operation Viscount, found more than 230 plants of varying maturity in the property. A man has been arrested.
It is the second significant cannabis factory find in the same area recently. Last month officers seized nearly 200 plants at a house in Poolemead Road.
Twerton beat manager PC Adrian Secker said: “In the space of less than a month we have taken nearly half a million pounds’ worth of cannabis off the streets.
“This is not a back-street dealer peddling in a few pounds of cannabis. This is serious, organised crime and I’m very eager for members of the public to report any of their suspicions to me.”
He said the owners of the house in Landseer Road, a retired couple from Bath, were devastated to hear their property had been used as a cannabis factory.
They estimated that repairing the damage and lost income in rent would cost them around £10,000.
Police have offered the following advice for members of the public to spot the tell-tale signs of a cannabis factory:
- A strong vegetable smell;
- Windows covered from inside with plastic;
- Condensation on windows;
- Curtains always drawn;
- The house appears unoccupied, or tenants do not engage with neighbours.
If you suspect there’s a cannabis factory near you, or you’re concerned about drugs activity in your neighbourhood, call police on 101 and report it.
