Police To Carry Out Road Safety Checks In Bath

Avon and Somerset Police are carrying out a number of Road safety operations are taking place across Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire this week.

Officers will be carrying out mobile phone and seatbelt stop checks, as well as monitoring speeds on roads and in 20mph zones.

Cycle marking sessions are planned at the University of the West of England, as well as cycle track patrols with police offering crime prevention and safety advice for cyclists and pedestrians.

In Bath there will be one of the city’s regular cycle safety operations, aimed at improving cyclist and motorist awareness.

Sergeant Paul Wigginton said: “Improving safety on the roads for everyone is one of our priorities and this week of action is just part of our all-year round commitment to reducing deaths and injuries across the district.”
