Avon and Somerset Police have arrested two men in connection with a serious assault in the Newton Road area of Bath last week, though investigations are still continuing.

A 26-year-old man required hospital treatment following the attack last Thursday, 15th December, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

A 24-year-old man and a 29-year-old man have been arrested and released on bail.

Officers investigating the assault are still keen to speak to anyone who witnessed it, or who saw anything suspicious in the area between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Christian Vogler via 101, providing the call handler with the reference 5216278207.
