Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following a fatal collision on the M4 in the early hours of Tuesday morning, in which a man in his 30s died.
The single vehicle incident took place at approximately 3am on the M4 eastbound between junction 18 and 19.
A silver BMW 335D Coupe left the carriageway and came to rest in a nearby field.
The body of a man in his 30s was found a short distance from the vehicle.
As a result, the motorway was closed for more than six hours while Highways England conducted an investigation.
Police enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident but they are asking anyone who witnessed it to come forward now.
