Avon & Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted near Edgar Buildings in George Street.

A police car with flashing blue lights

The incident, which saw the 19-year-old victim receive a head injury, happened between 12.15am and 12.45am on Sunday 8th October 2023 outside the Sub13 and Slug and Lettuce bars.

Initial enquiries suggest that the victim was punched once by another man who then ran off.

The injured man went home but was later found to have sustained a head injury which saw him admitted to hospital, and has left him needing ongoing medical care.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was in George Street at the time who saw what happened or who has any dashcam or other footage which could help the investigation.

If you can help, call 101 and give the reference 5223245824.

Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously by calling 0800 555 111, or online here.
