Police issue appeal following assault in beer garden at Bath pub

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to as part of an investigation into an assault at a pub in Bath.

The incident happened in the beer garden of The Boathouse at around 4.55pm on Sunday 7th June.

A man in his thirties was speaking to a friend when he was assaulted by another man. Police understand the victim had been involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown man before the assault took place.

He suffered bruising to his neck but did not require hospital treatment. Officers have remained in contact with him during the investigation.

Police have spoken to witnesses and carried out a number of other enquiries before deciding to release the image.

The man pictured is believed to have information that could assist officers.

He is described as white, of stocky build and aged between 55 and 65, with short white hair and glasses.

At the time, he was wearing blue and white trainers, blue trousers, a dark blue polo shirt, a grey hooded jacket and a green cap.
