Wiltshire Police are continuing to appeal to the public for help in locating the statues which were stolen from Iford Manor, near Freshford, in the summer.

Overnight from 19th to 20th June, the items stolen were:

  • She-Wolf with Romulus and Remus, including the bronze base
  • Bust of Antinous
  • A pair of symmetrical fawns, copies of the Villa Dei Papyri fawns

The force’s burglary team have an ongoing investigation.

Two people from the Bristol area, aged 31 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of burglary in late June and remain on bail while enquiries continue.

The statues remain outstanding, and police are keen to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of where they might be.

Last week, DC Jo Chesshire, from the burglary team, said: “This investigation remains a priority for our team, and we are keen to hear from anyone who has had these items cross their path.

“The items are thought to be intact, rather than melted down, but may be being stored somewhere nationally or have been shipped abroad.

“We would urge anyone who has seen them to please contact us.

“Call 101 quoting reference 54250075348, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, to report any information.”
