Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses after a 61-year-old man was found with serious injuries in Keynsham, though they say there are no signs that he was the victim of an assault.

The 61-year-old man was found unconscious outside Abbey Apartments on Charlton Road at approximately 11.50pm on Saturday 6th May.

A member of the public found him and flagged down an ambulance who took him to hospital.

The man remains in a critical condition with a serious head injury.

At this stage, officers are treating his injuries as unexplained but there are no signs he was the victim of an assault.

Police are keen to speak to the person who was first on the scene and flagged down the ambulance.

They also want to speak to anyone who might have seen the man in the Charlton Road area of Keynsham prior to him being found.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Tom Williams on 101 and quoting crime reference number 5217101036.
