Man given suspended jail sentence for GBH and must pay victim £3k
A 21-year-old who fractured a man’s jaw in a Bath nightclub has been given a suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay his victim £3,000 compensation.

The Labyrinth nightclub in Bath
Harvey Connolly appeared before District Judge Lynne Matthews at Bath Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 29th July to admit unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) at Labyrinth on 16th August last year.
Connolly was drunk at the time. He threw two punches which broke the victim’s jaw.
After an initial visit to A&E, the man had to attend four outpatient appointments for close monitoring before being signed off.
The court heard that Connolly, of Humbolts Hold in Chippenham, is of previous good character and is remorseful.
The judge jailed him for 26 weeks but suspended the sentence for 12 months.
He must wear an alcohol abstinence monitoring tag for 120 days and complete 150 hours of unpaid work in the community.
No order was made for prosecution costs or court surcharge.
