An 18-year-old man from Frome has been remanded in custody after appearing in court following the murder of a teenager in Radstock.
Joshua Delbono, of Slipps Close, has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Charley Bates.
Emergency services were called to a car park in The Street in the town near Bath at around 6.40pm on Sunday 31st July, where they found the teenager critically injured following disorder involving several people.
Despite receiving emergency treatment at the scene, Charley Bates died.
Delbono appeared before magistrates in Bath on Wednesday 3rd August, and at Bristol Crown Court the following day.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance at the same court on Friday 30th September.
A provisional trial date has been set for Monday 23rd January.
Three other people arrested in connection Charley’s death have been released under investigation, and all are now residing outside the Avon and Somerset area.
Charley’s family have paid tribute to the teenager, saying: “Our beautiful Charley boy. We are all so very proud of you. You are desperately missed by so many.”
