The death of a man whose body was recovered from the River Avon near St John’s Road in Bath this morning is being treated as unexplained, police have confirmed.
Emergency services recovered the body of a man from the river at St John’s Road, Bathwick at about 9.40am this morning, Friday 12th October.
Avon and Somerset Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
Avon Fire & Rescue told us that two crews from Bath’s Fire Station were called to assist the police following reports of a male casualty in the water.
South Western Ambulance Service were called at around 9.45am to reports of the incident near St John’s Road.
They sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, an operations officer, two hazardous area response teams, and another emergency responder.
