Robert Jenkins, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to a charge of non-dwelling burglary when he appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 31st December.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday 28th January.
The charge relates to a break-in at premises in Princes Street on Friday 26th December, during which cash was stolen.
Police say CCTV footage from the scene shows a second person taking part in the burglary, and that enquiries to trace them are ongoing.
The business owner discovered the break-in on 27 December, returning to find that entry had been forced and that an untidy search had been carried out in a ground-floor office and the basement.
PC Jed Kingdon, officer in the case, said: “Burglaries from businesses are not victimless crimes, and the harm they can cause can be immeasurable.
“Such offences can have a detrimental, economic impact on the running of a businesses, which can also cause alarm and distress to owners and those who work there.
“We will continue to deliver high-visibility patrols in areas where there are known to be issues, responding to reports and pursuing prosecutions.”
