Bath man with grudge against cops sends more sinister threats
A Bath man jailed last year after he sent threatening emails to two police forces and a local charity has admitted sending more messages in which he threatened to harm officers with a crossbow.

In August 2025 – as we reported at the time – Bath magistrates sentenced Kether Everett to eight months after he pleaded guilty to threatening to use a crossbow against Greater Manchester Police and Dorset Police officers and to bomb Bath mental health charity Mind.
Everett has confessed to having a grudge against the police.
The 42-year-old of Walcot Street was back in the dock at Bath Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 2nd September to face a charge under the Online Safety Act 2023.
He admitted that on 22nd July and 30th July this year in Bath he sent email messages threatening serious harm, namely assaulting police officers with a crossbow and other means, intending or being reckless about whether they would fear the threat would be carried out.
Prosecutor Cathy Thornton told magistrates that a total of six emails had been sent by Everett to the Bath & North East Somerset neighbourhood policing team.
They included grossly offensive language with the threat of serious harm to officers from a crossbow bolt in the head. Everett said they were “not real cops” and referred to them as “scumbags”.
He also made reference to stalking them, to an “end game” and threatened an arson attack on police vehicles.
At his court appearance on Wednesday, Everett also admitted his involvement in a burglary on 12th June at Jigsaw in Old Bond Street, where various items including handbags worth £365 were stolen.
The court heard he was the lookout and had not benefited from the crime. CCTV identified him as being at the scene, and he also emailed police to confess his part.
Magistrates asked the Probation Service to prepare an all-options pre-sentence report on Everett. This includes committal to Bristol Crown Court for sentence.
He was remanded on unconditional bail until his next appearance before the magistrates on 19th October.
