A man appeared in court yesterday, Monday 1st October, thanks to a call to the police from a member of the public reporting a burglary in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A witness reported seeing someone break into a chemist shop in Claremont Terrace, Bath at about 3.30am on Saturday 29th September.
Patrolling officers responded immediately, including a police dog and handler.
The officers arrested a man in nearby Claremont Buildings just before 4am. Police also seized prescription drugs and perfume believed to be stolen from the shop.
Police say they are grateful to the witness who had called straight away to report the incident.
