Avon and Somerset Police have arrested a 22-year-old man after a woman was robbed of her handbag and purse while walking through Larkhall yesterday evening.

The woman was walking along St Saviour’s Road in Larkhall when the robbery took place just after 11pm.

The man took the woman’s handbag and purse after threatening her and telling her that he had a weapon.

Avon and Somerset Police called in the force helicopter from Filton, NPAS43, and it arrived on scene at around 11.30pm to search for the man.

The helicopter assisted in the search for the man, as well as the containment of an address the man was later discovered in.
