A man has been arrested and another is in hospital following an incident just off Chelsea Road in Bath in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called at 12.55am on Friday 6th January by the ambulance service who had been sent to reports of a man with a stab wound in Fielding’s Road, near the Lidl store.
Officers attended and their initial enquiries led them to a property just off Chelsea Road, where a man was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

At the time of writing, the man remains in police custody.
Residents may see an increased police presence in the local area as officers carry out house-to-house and other enquiries and as a visible uniformed presence to reassure the community.
The injured man remains in hospital and enquiries are continuing.
