Avon and Somerset Police have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl near student accommodation on the Lower Bristol Road in Bath on Sunday morning (20th December).
Officers were called at around 6.30am following reports of the sexual assault near the Charlton Court student accommodation on the Lower Bristol Road.
Forensic teams spent a number of hours at the scene as part of the investigation.
Charlton Court is owned by Unite and accommodates students from Bath Spa University.
Police say they still want to hear from anyone who was in the area around the scene of the assault at around 6.30am who may have information to help them.
Anyone who may have information is asked to call the force number 101 quoting log 335 of Sunday 20th December.
