Unknown suspects broke into the property sometime between Thursday night, 19th June, and Friday morning, and stole several items.

The historic venue is currently hosting the Iford Manor Jazz Festival, in association with Jazz FM.

The statues include:

  • She-Wolf with Romulus and Remus, including the bronze base
  • A pair of symmetrical fawns, copies of the Villa Dei Papyri fawns
  • Bust of Antinous

Wiltshire Police say their enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

In a post on social media, Iford Manor said: “Let’s restore these iconic statues back to their rightful place for everyone to continue to enjoy them, now and long into the future.”

If you witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between 10.45pm on Thursday evening and 8am on Friday morning, or if you have any information on the whereabouts of the items, contact police via 101.

Officers are also urging any antique dealers or auction houses to look out for the items.

You can leave information by calling 101 quoting reference 54250075348, or anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
