An investigation has been launched by detectives following a serious sexual assault in Radstock on Monday 25th January.

The victim, a teenage girl, was assaulted by a man on Kilmersdon Road sometime between 7pm and 8pm.

Officers are supporting the teenager and have provided her with access to specialist services.

As part of the investigation, the scene has been forensically examined while police are also conducting house to house and CCTV enquiries.

Neighbourhood officers have also increased patrols in the area to provide the community with reassurance.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have any information which could help the inquiry. Call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5221017670.

Victims of rape or sexual assault, recent or non-recent, can self-refer to The Bridge, a Sexual Assault Referral Centre available 24/7 365 days a year.

Visit their website at www.thebridgecanhelp.org.uk or call 0117 342 6999.

You can also visit www.thisisnotanexcuse.org for details of charities and organisations who are experts in supporting victims.
