Following confirmation by Avon and Somerset Police on Monday that a body had been found in the search for missing 19-year-old Bath teenager Connor Jarvis, his family have now issued a statement confirming the find is their ‘dear son’.

The body of Connor was found in the Atlas mountains in Morocco at the weekend.

Moroccan authorities recovered the body, and Connor’s  family were made aware of the discovery.

Yesterday, the family issued the following statement:

“Today we have been told that the person who lost their life on Mount Toubkal in Morocco has been confirmed as our dear son, Connor Jarvis.

“We are in Morocco now to bring Connor back home. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and messages.

“We would like to ask everybody to respect our privacy at this very sad time. With much love and thanks. John and Sian Jarvis.”

Connor, 19, was due to return from a solo trip to Marrakech on Saturday 28th May but did not board his flight.

Avon and Somerset Police worked with a number of partner agencies including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Moroccan authorities and the National Crime Agency in the search for the teenager.
