Avon and Somerset Police have released an E-fit of a man they want help from the public to identify, as part of an investigation into a distraction burglary in the Southdown area of Bath.

The victims, a man aged in his 90s and another in his 60s, were visited at their home on Southdown Road, Bath by a man claiming to work for the council.

The incident happened on Monday, 28th December at approximately 1.45pm.

The man, who showed the victims council identification, claimed he was there to assess overhanging trees in the back garden following a complaint from a neighbour.

After being shown the trees the man informed the occupants he would return 30 minutes later.

However, he failed to return and the victims discovered later that evening that a quantity of cash had been stolen.

If you recognise the man in the E-fit, or have information which could help our enquiry, call the 24 hour police enquiry centre on 101 and quote crime reference number 5215072100.
