A 48-year-old drug addict appeared before Bath magistrates for sentencing on Monday 6th October for his latest offences.

Jonathan Peacock, of Snow Hill House in Bath, had last month admitted five charges and magistrates had requested information about him prior to sentencing.
On 5th July at High Street in Bath he had entered a defined area he was prohibited from under a criminal behaviour order (CBO) made by the court on 14th March.
On 7th July at Stall Street he had entered a shop which he was prohibited from doing under the terms of the CBO. He stole salmon worth £59 from Marks & Spencer.
Then on 7th September at Snow Hill, he stole £35 and a Samsung mobile phone from a Volvo and breached a CBO by entering a vehicle without permission when banned from doing so.
The court heard from the Probation Service that Peacock leads a “chaotic life” but there are signs that he now has real motivation to get help, and he “won’t be around much longer” if he doesn’t.
Peacock was sentenced to a total custodial period of 16 weeks, suspended for 18 months. He must abide by a nine-month drug rehabilitation order and take part in five rehabilitation activity requirement (RAR) days.
He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation to the owner of the car who had cash and a phone stolen. The device was returned but had suffered some damage.
