Police have issued CCTV video of two men they would like to trace in connection with a burglary in the Larkhall area of Bath which has left a grieving family devastated.

Thieves are believed to have broken into the house in Larkhall at about 5.30pm on Monday 10th October, but the burglary was only discovered at lunch time on Wednesday 12th October when the family visited their late father’s property.

The owner, who has asked not to be identified, said: “My father died in 2015 but I hadn’t had the heart to clear it out, take the pictures down and close it up. It was our family home. We are devastated by this – although we don’t think anything of great value has been stolen, these are items of huge sentimental importance.

“The heartlessness of it, leaving things in our family home broken, is so upsetting. We will of course now be clearing the house.”

Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area and Crime Scene Investigators have examined the property for forensic evidence.

DI Dominic Graham said: “Our investigation into this burglary continues but we are very keen to speak to these two men who were in the area at the time. These images are so clear that I am convinced someone will recognise them. If anyone does know who they are, they should contact us immediately.”

Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch through the police online form, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5216227489.

Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name or trace your call and you could qualify for a reward.
