Avon and Somerset Police have released CCTV images after a family was left devastated when thieves broke into their late father’s home in Bath.
The break-in at the house in Larkhall is believed to have happened at about 5.30pm on Monday 10th October, but was discovered at lunch time on Wednesday 12th October when the family visited the property.
The owner, who has asked not to be identified, said: “My father died in 2015 but I hadn’t had the heart to clear it out, take the pictures down and close it up. It was our family home.
“We are devastated by this – although we don’t think anything of great value has been stolen, these are items of huge sentimental importance.
“The heartlessness of it, leaving things in our family home broken, is so upsetting. We will of course now be clearing the house.”
Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area and Crime Scene Investigators have examined the property for forensic evidence.
DC Alastair Binnie said: “Having your home burgled is always a horrible experience and is has been extremely difficult for this grieving family. There are CCTV images showing two people leaving the property with a bin bag we believe may contain stolen items, although it’s not yet clear what has been stolen.
“I would urge anyone who recognises the individuals in these images – or who has any other information which could help our investigation – to contact us.”
