A delivery driver has lost his licence after being caught drug-driving in Bath.
Bath magistrates heard that Jacob Givans had been going at speed down Rush Hill in his Ford Fiesta last December when he was stopped by police.
Officers found six bags of cannabis in the vehicle, totalling 19 grams. A subsequent blood test revealed he was driving above the specified limit of a controlled drug.
At his court appearance last Thursday, 8th May, the 20-year-old, who is of previous good character, admitted drug-driving and being in possession of cannabis.
The court heard his use of drugs is “recreational” and he would inevitably lose his employment as a result of his conviction.
Telling Givans that Rush Hill is a “dangerous” road and the scene of many accidents, the chair of the bench Mrs Foulger adjourned sentencing until 25th June for a probation report.
The court did however make an interim driving ban. Givans, from Camerton, was granted unconditional bail.
