Armed police deployed in Bath following reports of man with gun

Armed police descended on the centre of Bath this morning, Wednesday 23rd April, following a report of a man with a gun.

Avon & Somerset Police say they were called shortly after 11.30am this morning after receiving a report of the man in Abbeygate Street in Bath.

Officers were deployed to search the area, but no weapons were found.

A spokesperson for the force said: “At 11.41am this morning we received a report of a man who was potentially in possession of a firearm in Abbeygate Street in Bath.

“Armed officers were deployed as a precaution and conducted a search but no weapons were found.”
