Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in Bath in which the occupant of a house in Oakhill Road was assaulted.

Two men with facial coverings forced their way into the property on Oakhill Road after the occupant opened the door.

The incident happened at around 9.20pm on Tuesday 21st February.

The occupant was assaulted by the men who then stole his phone, a quantity of cash and two bags.

Both the men were described as white, aged in their mid-30s and approximately 5ft 7ins tall.

One of the men was of slightly smaller build and he was wearing a red hooded top with a zip up the middle and light blue jeans.

The slightly larger man wore a black hooded top and black jeans. He also wore black woollen gloves.

As part of the police investigation, the house was examined by specialist crime scene investigators while officers also carried out hours to house enquiries.

If you saw or heard anything suspicious around Oakhill Road around the time of the incident, or have any information which could help police, call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5217039642.
