Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for information to help trace a man who tried to steal a woman’s rucksack in Foxhill earlier this week.

It happened at around 7.40pm on Monday 16th February as the 52-year-old walked along Kewstoke Road.

At the junction with Queen’s Drive a man she’d noticed walking behind her came up and tried to snatch her bag.

She screamed and kicked out, and the man ran off empty-handed down Kewstoke Road.

The woman was left shocked but otherwise unhurt.

The man is described as white, about 30, and of medium build.

He was wearing dark trousers and a grey hooded top with the hood pulled down to conceal his face.

Anyone who saw what happened or saw a man matching the description in the area is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 16869/15.
